Anna-Koota Thiru-Pavadai Mahothsavam (8 - 3 - 2015)

The Anna-Koota Thiru-Pavadai Mahothsavam will be held in the temple premises on March 8, 2015.

Anna-Koota means assembly of rice items in different forms and flavour. These prasadams are arranged in a manner so as to resemble a "Pavadai" (robe). Hence the name Thiru-Pavadai.

The highlight of the Uthsavam is preparation of a variety of Prasadhams (rice items like puliyodharai, pongal, etc.), sweets and savouries, besides a huge quantity of rice mixed with kozhambu (known as kadhamba-sadham), all of which are offered to the Lord and then distributed to the devotees.

On Sunday, the 2nd, there will be a Visesha Thirumanjanam to Sri Srinivasa Perumal, Sri Alarmelmangai Thayar and Swami Desikan. This will be followed by decoration of the deities, offering of Prasadams, ghoshti, and distribution of Prasadams.

The Uthsavam will conclude with a grand procession of Perumal and Desikan in the evening.

This festival is held under the auspices of Sri Srinivasa Perumal Vedantha Desikar Kainkarya Trust.
